Thank You So Much

Let me start off by saying that I have never been arrested before and never saw myself in a situation where one day I would be. Well that day came and it came hard. It was a 3-5 year minimum mandatory prison sentence crime and I was beyond horrified. Fortunately enough I was advised by a lawyer who is the friend of the family in Orlando who the best trial lawyer would be. They recommended Richard Hornsby and they were absolutely right.

From the first office visit I was impressed by his knowledge of the law and the court system. He is very direct and to the point no sugar coating. He tells you what to expect and how he is going to go about to win the case. A true professional. He makes sure you are going to receive the best outcome that is absolutely possible.

My case was over a year long and the court can drag things out as long as they want. Richard is not going to put your case on hold because the court system is taking to long. He was with me every step of the way. Needless to say that when that day came to trial I was represented by the best and received the outcome that I was looking for. From my personal experience and seeing other peoples review on this man, you would be doing yourself a crime not ask for his representation. Great Lawyer

Mr. Hornsby was worth every penny that I paid him for taking my case (2 felony charges with police recordings). In the end, he resolved my case exactly as discussed months prior, during my initial visit to his office. He was always available and returned calls quickly, even when he was out of the country which is a big plus when you have questions. Hopefully I do not need legal defense anytime in the near future but if I do, I will be giving him call and would recommend you do the same.

Excellent at What He Does

Mr.Hornsby is excellent at what he does, and that is defending you. I was falsely accused of a violent crime out of malice and spite, I was also being extorted. Mr.Hornsby exposed the case for what it was, and my charges were dismissed. Mr.Hornsby is straight forward with his fee and facts, he does not beat around the bush and drag things out longer than needed just to charge you more money. He is very attentive and responds to you very quickly. I hope to never have to see this man again, but if I ever find myself in trouble again, I will be back at his door. My experience with Mr. Hornsby was excellent. I had no idea what to expect when I found myself on the wrong side of some charges, but Mr. Hornsby was very knowledgeable about my situation. He presented every option in detail and how they would affect my case and helped me select my best option without pressuring me one way or another.

Thought it was Over for Me!

First off, my charges were possession of concealed firearm (felony) and possession of cannabis (under 20grams). I googled "Best Criminal Defense Attorneys in Orlando" & Hornsby's name popped up. I read his bio and saw that he played college football. That was enough for me. I played college football and also graduated with both a Bachelor & Masters degree. I was confident that he might have known guys in school like me. We aren't “bad guys” ... just got caught up in a little trouble. Richard assured me that everything would be okay He gave me a worst case scenario and best case scenario at our first meeting. His retainer fee was cheaper than other attorneys that were recommended and we worked out a payment plan. In conclusion, he got the FELONY reduced to a misdemeanor, adjudication withheld, and I ended up with probation and community service. I'll take that! ANYTHING but a felony on my record. Furthermore, I would recommend his services to anyone in need of solid representation. This guy is GOOD!

Professional, Straight Shooting Lawyer

I had a difficult DUI case with property damage and a high BAL. I was very concerned about the possibility of serving time in jail, as well as the extreme financial burden I could be facing. He was very honest and forward about both the possible negative outcome of my case, as well as the positive. He negotiated a plea deal with the state that I was satisfied with, having my charge amended to a lesser one. My penalties and fines were basically cut in half. On the day of my sentencing, he had reworked my deal heavily in my favor by having the state drop the requirement for me to have an interlock device in my car for a year. That was a pleasant surprise to say the least.

I regret my poor decision to drink and drive, but it's nice to have a second chance at correcting one horrible mistake. Hiring him as my attorney was a great decision, and worth every penny. Though I hope to never need his services again, I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a good criminal defense lawyer.

Something Serious Happens...

Something serious happens. You find yourself on the wrong side of the law. In the hours and days that follow, you will be taken to have your picture and finger prints taken and held in jail. On the other side of the law, in Jail, people you come in contact with "Have heard it all before". Your picture will be on the Internet within hours. You will be alone and in a very scary place. The uncertainty of the future - all the worst-case scenarios will play out in your head. The humiliation. The grave charges brought against you will be hard to comprehend. It's hard to deal with; heavy.

I was lucky enough to retain Richard Hornsby as soon as I was able. Richard met me on a Saturday. He was punctual to the minute. In his office, he listened to my explanation of the events. He reviewed my charges from the documents I presented him. He looked me up in the County Clerk system as he knows his way around the infrastructure of the judicial system.

Richard sat there for a minute, quietly thinking as he found me in the system and checked various screens of information and looked up the specific statutes I was in violation of. Without an ounce of sugar-coating (I would have loved a "spoon full of sugar as the medicine went down" but that's not Richard's style) he spun around in his office chair and told me how serious the charges were against me. I received a razor-sharp-articulate explanation and a very professional assessment of what to expect and the series of events that would probably unfold.

Richard was never mean, cruel or condescending. I never felt that I was about to be "raked over the coals". Richard never promised a thing, but his knowledge of the system and his expectations of a "reasonable and predictable" resolution to my charges were comforting. When I left Richard's office that Saturday, I slept better knowing that I was represented by him. Ultimately it's about sleep; in your own bed, instead of in Jail or Prison.

As bad as charges might be against you, relax as much as you can, if Richard is representing you. Even now, as my issue is resolved to a high level of satisfaction, I realize that everything happened according to Richard's assessments from the first day I spoke with him. I hope to never see Richard again, but I know an Attorney who is competent, intelligent and razor sharp, who is out there defending people; now you know too.

Let me start off by thanking Mr. Hornsby for handling my case very professionally and successfully. Mr. Hornsby took care of a DUI that I was being charged with, and won the case. This was due to his vast knowledge of law and direct personality. He was aggressive with the case, in the sense of that he didn't back down my defense for a second. He went about the cross examination in a very clever way. He said all the right things all at the right time. He kept me informed of every detail that I personally needed to know. This is an attorney that I strongly recommend to anyone. I was only without my license for a couple weeks. Now my DUI is dropped and currently have my license.
